Parents: Welcome to the 2007 -2008 Competitive Season. We wish
your gymnasts success! Competition Etiquette Parent, spectator and audience rules. Meets are sanctioned by USA Gymnastics, therefore all participants must abide by the Women's Program Rules and Policies. The competition is set up for the benefit of the competing gymnasts. There are specific requirements for ethics and behavior. As a spectator, you are a guest of the gym hosting the meet. You are required to pay the entrance fee to the facility and abide by the rules of the meet host. Please respect their facility, stay off all equipment and control all children. No smoking is allowed within 50ft of the facility. The following regulations are for audience and spectators, as written in the Rules and Policies. 1. Spectators are not allowed to enter the "field of play" competitive area. They must use only the area designated for the public. 2. Spectators are not allowed to use flash photography during the competition, as this may endanger the performing athletes. Any video taping must be done from the spectator seating or designated area. No person may stand on the competition floor to tape. Please check the light on your video camera. Outlets are for official use only, no video cameras, battery chargers or computers. 3. Spectators shall not disturb the order of the meet, its competitors and its officials. Individuals causing violations shall be asked to leave the competition site. 4. The spectators shall not carry food or drinks into the spectators' area, if so directed. Please place all trash in a receptacle. 5. Parents will also refrain from loud cheering or any negative behavior. A reminder to all gymnastic meet spectators: please do not bring personal defense chemicals or sprays into a competition site; leave these items in your car or at home. The safety of our gymnasts is of utmost importance. 6. At no time will any parent approach or speak to any meet official or judge. Any problems should be directed to your Team Coach only. Any parent or spectator will act in a courteous, respectful manner to all officials, competitors, meet host and other clubs. Spectators should support your gymnast and others for their efforts and accomplishments. Good Luck this season. We wish you success.
